Our Adult Classes are very popular at our studios and we offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Musical Theatre, Irish and Zumba. What better way to meet friends and keep fit at the same time. All our classes are mixed abilities and are pay as you go, so no monthly commitments.
A modern, expressive and varied dance style.
Freestyle is a popular form of dance in the UK today. It involves runs, spins, kicks and leaps, as well as many other diverse steps and movements with lots of arm and hand actions.
Tap dance dates back to the middle of the 19th century, with roots coming from English Clog Dancing, African American dance and Irish Step-dancing. The dance is characterised by a rhythmical tapping sound which is attained from the small metal plates on the dancer’s shoes.
Musical Theatre is a theatrical performance that combines Dancing, Singing and Acting. Popular reality TV shows such as “How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?”, “Over the Rainbow” and “Any Dream Will Do” illustrate the variety and enduring interest in Musical Theatre and the effort and skills which go into its production.
Modern Jazz is a very popular class which teaches pupils to improve their flexibility, strength and co-ordination. The classes encompass components from several different dance techniques, including Jazz, Modern, Contemporary and Ballet. Pupils are taught how to dance using their core muscles, and will learn how to leap and turn, expand, relax and contract their bodies.
Although its origins can be traced back to the more traditional jazz dances of the late 19th century, in recent years interest in Street Dance has surged – due in no small part to the popularity of TV programmes and films such as “So You Think You Can Dance”, “Got To Dance” “Step Up” and the channel “MTV”.
Our fun and friendly gymnastics classes are designed to improve the student’s poise, stamina, strength and flexibility – and are available to all ages and skill levels. Throughout the course, the studio teaches a wide range of moves including backward and forwards rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, forward and backward walkover, leaps, splits, jumps turns and springs.
